Fishing Regulations

Before June 16 the Environment Agency’s National Bylaws require that all salmon be released.

Thereafter with the aim of trying to improve stocks of both Simon and Sea Trout and achieve a “catch and release” rate of 90% for salmon as required by the Environment Agency the Dart Fisheries and Conservation Association strongly recommend that ALL ANGLERS

  • return the first salmon caught, thereafter do not keep more than two salmon in the season.

  • return any salmon over 10 lbs (approximately 32 inches long).

  • use only single or double barbless hooks to facilitate easy release.

  • Additionally it is recommended that not more than two sea trout per night be kept with any fish over 6 lbs to be released.
